2021/9/14 · They probably did that to avoid having to reheat the steam. Eliminate the HP turbine section and you don't need to. Just an aside here: I dug up a diagram of an ultrasupercritical steam plant (original is off the web but pdf available here) and the high-pressure boiler puts out steam at 3623.7 PSI (gauge, I assusme) and 1114.3 F (601.3 C) and the reheat yields steam at 748 PSI and 1125.6 F
